LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK EXHIBITS

Annual Conference of the Association for the Psychoanalysis
of Culture and Society: “Ethics in an Age of Diminishing
Distance: The Clash of Difference”
October 24-26, 2008, Rutgers University

LSSThe Association for the Psychoanalysis of Culture & Society (APCS) is an international, interdisciplinary organization promoting socially beneficial applications of psychoanalysis to important cultural issues. This year’s meeting will address the ethical implications of psychoanalysis. Analysts, therapists, social workers, social scientists and scholars from the fields of literature and cultural studies will come together to investigate new clinical and theoretical interventions on the relation between the psyche and the social. Attendees will discuss globalization, interdependence, the media, feminism and politics as they relate to understanding encounters with the Other.

This is one of the best opportunities of the year to promote your titles on psychology, psychotherapy, and psychoanalytic theory and practice, as well as psychoanalytic approaches to politics, history, culture, society, literature, philosophy, and the arts.

Space is limited. Please fill out and fax your reservation form as soon as possible to reserve a space for your press.

ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT

The Library of Social Science book exhibit will be at the heart of the meeting space, in the main lobby of the conference center. The influential educators and researchers who attend this collegial meeting seek monographs for their own research and texts for classroom adoption. Our exhibit as always is a major attraction of this meeting—offering participants an opportunity to select from a comprehensive collection of the latest and most significant books and journals.

Our professional exhibit managers actively promote your titles by distributing flyers and catalogs, discussing books with conferees, selling titles on-site using publisher-supplied order forms, and urging instructors to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition. Attendees visit our exhibits repeatedly in the course of a meeting.
