LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK EXHIBITS

8th Biennial Conference of the International Association of Genocide Scholars: “The New Face of Genocide in the 21st Century”
June 7-10, 2009 • George Mason University, Arlington, VA

LSSFollowing the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust, people believed that “never again” would genocide be allowed to occur. However, events in Cambodia, the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda have demonstrated the continuing threat of genocide, leaving the world community to confront the legacy of mass-murder and extermination.

The International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) is the most prominent organization in the world promoting and disseminating scholarship and policy analyses on the nature, causes, consequences, and prevention of genocide. This conference will attract the top researchers, educators, activists and policy makers in the field who will present papers on and explore the meaning of the Holocaust; the Armenian, Cambodian, Yugoslavian and Rwandan genocides; the current genocidal catastrophe in Sudan; as well as ways to educate the public about genocide prevention.

This is the best opportunity of the year to reach prominent educators seeking texts, titles for assigned readings and research materials on all aspects of the Holocaust and Genocide. Space is limited.

ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT

The LSS BOOK EXHIBIT will be at the center of the meeting space at George Mason’s School of Public Policy and be a featured component of the conference. Your books and journals will be displayed face out for maximum promotional impact. Our exhibit offers attendees a unique opportunity to buy significant titles on the Holocaust, Nazism, Anti-Semitism, prejudice, racism, and genocide from the major publishers in these fields. Our professional exhibit managers actively promote your titles by distributing flyers and catalogs, discussing books with conferees, selling titles on-site using publisher-supplied order forms and urging instructors to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition. Attendees visit our exhibits repeatedly over the course of a meeting.
