LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK EXHIBITS
2009 Annual Convention of the Texas Psychological Association:
“The Future of Psychology in Texas” • Houston, TX • November 5-7, 2009

LSSThis year’s TPA convention brings together over 600 scholars, psychologists, therapists, counselors, social workers and students. Last year’s meeting and book exhibit was a tremendous success: These attendees are avid book-buyers seeking the latest titles on the full range of psychology and mental health topics, including forensic psychology, binational/multicultural issues, child & adolescent development, mental retardation & developmental disabilities, aging, psychopharmacology, social justice issues, certification and legislative concerns.

This is one of the best opportunities of the year to promote your titles to a prime market of professionals, clinicians and educators eager to acquire the latest publications covering the full range of titles in psychology and mental health, including multicultural awareness and competence, ethics, psychopharmacology and neurobiology, eating disorders, law enforcement, online sexual activity, addiction, trauma & conflict resolution, couples therapy and the elderly.

ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT

The Library of Social Science’s book exhibit will be at the heart of the meeting space once again, near registration and breaks. The influential clinicians and therapists who attend this large, collegial meeting seek monographs for their own research and practice, and texts for classroom adoption. Our exhibit will constitute a comprehensive collection of recent and significant titles in psychology—both theoretical and clinical—from the major publishers.

Our professional exhibit managers will be on-site from the beginning of the conference to its conclusion. We actively promote your titles by distributing flyers and catalogs, discussing books with conferees, selling books on-site using publisher-supplied order forms, and urging faculty to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition.
