With more than 500 members worldwide, the Canadian Anthropology Society (CASCA) is Canada's largest and most prominent organization promoting anthropological research and teaching. This year’s conference brings together anthropologists, sociologists, ethnographers, scholars and theorists to examine the changing environment—both natural and built—in which we live, and how Anthropology can be revitalized to best describe and understand the radical and rapid social and technical changes occurring around us. Attendees will present the latest scholarship and look to the future of the field through such topics as the power of states and transnational corporations; the “greening” of business practices through land use and appropriation of local knowledge; new “collaborations” with indigenous peoples; societal changes resulting from a shifting global economy; social movements and radical groups; global health politics; and gay, lesbian and transgendered communities.
This is one of the best opportunities of the year to reach prominent educators seeking texts, titles for assigned readings, and research materials on all aspects of Anthropology.

ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT
The LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK EXHIBIT will once again be a featured component of the CASCA meeting. Our exhibit will be located at the center of the meeting space—along with registration and near coffee breaks—in the Dr. Daniel O’Brien Study Hall of St. Thomas’ Margaret McCain Norrie Building. This will offer conferees a unique opportunity to buy books from a comprehensive collection of titles from the major publishers.
Our professional exhibit managers actively promote titles by distributing flyers and catalogs, discussing books with attendees, selling books on-site using publisher-supplied order forms, and urging faculty to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition.
