LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK EXHIBITS

15th Biennial Southern Labor Studies Association Conference (SLSA):
“Memory and Forgetting: Labor History and the Archives”
April 7-10, 2011 • Atlanta, GA
Book Exhibit

SLSA promotes the study, teaching of southern labor and working class history, provides resources for teachers and promotes the preservation of historical materials. Their biennial conference brings together labor activists and academics to exchange scholarship and experiences. The 2011 conference will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Southern Labor Archives at Georgia State University, examining how it shapes and constrains the meaning of labor, the worker and the working class.

Attendees at this meeting are avid book-buyers intent upon keeping up with the latest publications. This is the best opportunity of the year to promote your titles to a prime market of scholars and teachers seeking monographs and texts for research and course use on southern history, labor history, economic policy, slavery, poverty, civil rights and oral history.

The Biennial Southern Labor Studies Association Conference is
included in Library of Social Science’s Annual Subscription Plan,
which allows publishers to exhibit at any or all of our twenty-six 2011 book exhibits at a single fee. Most of our clients now work with us through the Annual Subscription Plan.

ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT

The Library of Social Science is organizing the book exhibit for the SLSA conference. Located at the center of the meeting site, our exhibit offers conferees a unique opportunity to buy books from a comprehensive collection of titles from the major publishers.

Our professional exhibit managers actively promote titles by distributing flyers and catalogs, discussing books with attendees, selling books on-site using publisher-supplied order forms, and urging faculty to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition.
