SHCY is the premier professional organization studying and teaching the history of children and youth. A primary focus is how cultural and national differences shape conceptions about children and their lived experiences. This year’s theme examines how political systems and specific policies affect children—in terms of education, health, mobility, media, literacy, consumerism, gender, race and culture. This exciting, interdisciplinary meeting brings together scholars from around the world from the fields of anthropology, sociology, film studies, art history, medicine, psychology and public policy.
This is the best opportunity of the year to reach prominent educators seeking texts, titles for assigned readings and research materials on all aspects of children’s history and culture, education, family issues and juvenile justice. Space is limited.
ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT
The LSS BOOK EXHIBIT will once again be a featured component of the conference, located at the center of the meeting space where your books and journals will be displayed for maximum promotional impact. Our comprehensive collection offers attendees a unique opportunity to buy significant titles on a broad array of topics, including adolescence, sexuality, juvenile law and children’s literature from the major publishers in these fields.
Our professional exhibit managers actively promote your titles by distributing flyers and catalogs, discussing books with attendees, selling titles on-site using publisher-supplied order forms and urging instructors to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition. Attendees visit our exhibits repeatedly over the course of a meeting.
