LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK EXHIBITS

4th Annual Conference of the Association for the Study of the Middle East & Africa:
“Out of the Past, Into the Future” • November 3-5, 2011 • Washington, DC

Book Exhibit

ASMEA, led by Bernard Lewis and Fouad Ajami, promotes the highest standards of academic research and teaching in the fields of Middle Eastern and African studies and related disciplines. This year’s conference will examine the region’s present situation and future possibilities, discussing historical and cultural links between the two regions; the history of religious and communal conflict and coexistence; how current strategic, political and economic concerns are reshaping the region; and issues related to conflict, terrorism and democratization.

This is the best opportunity of the year to reach prominent educators seeking texts, titles for assigned readings and research materials on all aspects of the history, politics, economics and cultures of the Middle East and Africa.

ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT

The LSS BOOK EXHIBIT will once again be a featured component of the conference. At the center of the meeting space, your books and journals will be displayed for maximum promotional impact. Our exhibit offers attendees a unique opportunity to buy significant titles on Middle Eastern, African and Islamic Studies—both historical and contemporary—from the major publishers in these fields.

Our professional exhibit managers actively promote your titles by distributing flyers and catalogues, discussing books with conferees, selling titles on-site using publisher-supplied order forms and urging instructors to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition. Attendees visit our exhibits repeatedly over the course of a meeting.
