BECOMING A LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK REVIEWER

Perhaps you would like to work with Library of Social Science Book Reviews on a regular basis.

Some of the reasons why:

  • Reviews will be distributed by the Library of Social Science Newsletter, which reaches 53,566 subscribers around the world, including many of our most prominent scholars. This is an excellent vehicle for expressing and conveying your own ideas. Through the miracle of the Internet, your writings will be read by more people in a day than read a journal review in the course of a lifetime.
  • With each review that we publish, we will promote books authored by the reviewer. Based on previous experience, we sell 10-20 copies of your publication each time we distribute your review.

People write and speak continually about the “crisis in scholarly publishing.” Yet the Internet provides significant, exciting opportunities for the presentation and promotion of new books—and discussion of the ideas they contain. We hope you will join us to bring important scholars and scholarship into the world.

Best regards,
Orion

P.S. Reviewers will be expected to write 2-3 review essays each year—each approximately 1,000 words in length.
