Dear Colleague,
LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE is organizing a book exhibit for the 2016 meeting of the Rural Sociological Society (RSS).
The Rural Sociological Society is the largest and most important North American organization devoted to generating and disseminating knowledge about rural communities, seeking to enhance the quality of rural life and the environment.
This year’s conference will attract scholars and researchers from around the world—avid book-buyers seeking the latest titles on the full range of sociological topics—to explore how the myriad definitions of “rural” specify features of the lived experience of rural populations. Attendees will examine issues of rising inequalities, resource concentration, climate change, loss of diversity—and how rural populations respond to changing social, economic and political factors.
This year's Plenary Speakers are David Grusky (Stanford University) and Erik Olin Wright (University of Wisconsin-Madison).
Space is limited. For details on exhibiting at the 2016 RSS meeting, please email Hugh Galford by clicking here.
RSS attendees seek titles on all aspects of Sociology, including:
• Rural communities
• Social solidarity & change
• Social & class theory
• Localism & regional development
• Globalization |
• Ecological & environmental change
• Rural-urban interactions
• Economics of food & health
• Education & welfare
• Politics & civic engagement |

The Library of Social Science book exhibit will be located at the center of the meeting space, near coffee and registration. The book exhibit will be open to attendees throughout the meeting, ensuring a steady flow of visitors.
Our professional exhibit managers will be on-site for the entire conference. We actively promote your titles by discussing books with conferees, distributing flyers and catalogs, selling books on-site using publisher-supplied order forms, and urging faculty to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition.
