Our human body becomes a body politic. The "other" is like a body attempting to enter into one's own body.
It's a sexual thing--this fear of penetration. This is why the idea of boundaries and paranoia go hand in hand. Paranoia is anxiety surrounding the violation of the self by an other.
Territory is experienced in corporeal terms. The state seeks to secure it borders—its "orifices and entry points." Orifices and entry points must be closed—to prevent penetration. Porous boundaries need to be sealed off—walls built to protect the vulnerable self.
A "wall" is a defense against sexual penetration: against the fantasy of being raped.
