We project our own body into the national body. We become our country.
We conceive of our country as we conceive of our own body: an entity with boundaries.
This gigantic, monumental fantasy--that our nation is our own body--structures reality.
Borders must be built to prevent rape. The boundaries are porous. Dark people are seeping through the holes.
Walls must be built. The orifices must be sealed. Nothing can be allowed to penetrate.
