From Koenigsberg's Notebook

"The Jewish Parasite is Germany: The Nation Consuming & Destroying the Self "

Dear Colleague,

Below are a passages in which Koenigsberg explains his paradigm-shifting ideas--in a more informal way, as if a page from his notebook.

Scroll down to the right for information on purchasing his foundational texts--as eBooks--at a very special price (two books for the price of one). Or simply click here for details.

Here's an excerpt of what appears below: "The Jew is the parasite, the negative experience of Germany, which also consumes the idea of the nation because now you experience it in its negative form. PARASITE AND DEVOTION MEAN THE SAME THING: the thing to which you are devoted (Germany) is also a parasite on the self. Rage at the parasite occurs when one begins to perceive the negative dimensions of that to which you are devoted; when you realize it is destructive."

One of my central idea is analysis of metaphor as the basis of politics--the disease metaphor as the source of genocide: the body and how it gets externalized into political units. My main contribution to humanity is to show how bodily fantasies are projected into nations, creating war and genocide.

The body politic is a double of the self (the King's second body): Both genocide (purification) and war (sacrifice) follow from this dream of preserving an immortal body with which the self is identified. Both war and genocide derive from bodily fantasies. Political ideology is a projection of bodily experience.

One of my main themes is how bodily fantasies create politics, culture, and history: Nationalism as the relocation of the self: From body to body politic (we need the connection to the omnipotent body so desperately).

Killing and dying occur in order to express faith in the reality of these omnipotent bodies. War and genocide are blood sacrifices made in the name of these gods, testifying to their existence, creating their reality.

The idea of the existence of immortal bodies is the foundation of culture: Bodies politic, bodies of work, monuments, etc.: the projection of human bodies into (dead) things. Sacrificial acts create these dead bodies (see Hinduism). Metaphors and bodily images reveal the bodily fantasies.

The dream of the body politic is the dream of eternal fusion with an immortal object. Identification with the idea of cultural objects or entities is the fundamental illusion. Suffering = eternal fusion to the omnipotent object: that which "keeps on going on though you die." Attachment to the illusion of culture is painful: It keeps you from attaching to your own life; embracing and cathecting your own life.

Ideas that people embrace have a psychosomatic presence within the body (see Samuel Johnson's writing about the American Revolution). The "immune response" is like an allergic response: the body struggling to REJECT OR EJECT OR PUSH AWAY OR WARD OF PSYCHOSOMATICALLY EXPERIENCED IDEAS.

We can call the immune response "paranoid rage" on the personal level and "national defense" on the level of international politics. However, the fact that such a violent response is perceived to be required means that the "other" or "enemy" is experienced as if inside your body.

If the enemy were not experienced as if inside the body, such an intense response would not be generated. People wage these battles by projecting internal conflicts outward, and are sure that the struggles being waged are REAL. The reality of the struggles (the fact that we invest in them so deeply) reflects the fact that we have projected inner struggles outward.

One does battle against a foreign idea symbolized by the other that is experienced as if inside one’s body. The internal tormentor becomes an external tormentor. Genocide and war are an immune response, projected outward.

The "immune response" is the body's struggle to get rid of pain. One projects this response into the enemy, and then tries to kill the enemy to get rid of pain. It feels like it’s all happening out there. It’s a complex process, but it feels so natural to everyone; so normal. It feels normal because we project our bodies into abstract entities that seem to exist outside the self: immortal containers such as a nation or a God.

Paranoia = immune response: Fighting to destroy the "not self" idea experienced as part of one's body. Something inside the body that is alien to the self, attacking the self.

The "parasite" idea suggests that the object inside your self is felt to be threatening your life, draining your life away (a parasite in the body politic). The parasite is the quest for paradise or immortality. In Hitler's case, all the energy devoted to Germany in order for Germany to become omnipotent; an entity that will "live on" in time.

The Jew is the parasite, the negative experience of Germany, which also consumes the idea of the nation because now you experience it in its negative form. PARASITE AND DEVOTION MEAN THE SAME THING: the thing to which you are devoted (Germany) is also a parasite on the self. Rage at the parasite occurs when one begins to perceive the negative dimensions of that to which you are devoted; when you realize it is destructive.

You don't want to experience the rage at that which you love, which has given meaning to your life, so you "split it off." The problem people have in understanding these phenomena is that they don't want to believe that  other people are as idealistic, as sincere as we are; that they also love the mother. The "other" ideology is seen as taking you away from your love for your own ideology, and the fact that the other has a noble ideology (and feels that you are taking him away from his ideology) is entirely ignored or denied. “Blow them up” or “kill them” is the answer to this threat to the self.
