Abstract 1: The idea of the "parasite" suggests that the object inside is felt to be threatening one's life, draining one's life away (a parasite on the body politic). The parasite is the quest for paradise or immortality, in Hitler's case the energy devoted to making Germany omnipotent, an entity that would "live on" eternally. The Jew is the parasite: the negative experience of Germany, which also consumes the idea of the nation because now you experience the object in its negative form. PARASITE AND DEVOTION MEAN THE SAME THING: the thing to which one is devoted (Germany) is also a parasitic on the self.

Abstract 2:
Trauma is the shattering of the connection to the object, loss of the ideal, separation from the "good object" that has constituted the foundation for existence. Trauma is based on the perception of destructiveness of the object, which causes you to want to separate. So trauma is the pathway to health because this is what stimulates, generates separation from the idealized object and a return to one's own self and life-space.

Ideas that one embraces have a psychosomatic presence within the body. The immune response is like an allergic response: the body struggling to REJECT, EJECT, OR PUSH AWAY OR WARD OF PSYCHOSOMATICALLY EXPERIENCED IDEAS. One may call this "paranoid rage" on the personal level and "national defense" on the level of international politics.
This suggest that the "enemy" must be experienced as inside your body—or such an intense response would not be generated. Paranoia = immune response: Fighting to destroy the "not self" idea experienced as part of one's body. Something inside the body is alien to the self, attacking the self.
The idea of the "parasite" suggests that the object inside is felt to be threatening one's life, draining your life away (a parasite in the body politic). The parasite is the quest for paradise or immortality, in Hitler's case all of this energy devoted to Germany and having Germany becoming omnipotent, an entity that will "live on." The Jew is the parasite, the negative experience of Germany, which also consumes the idea of the nation because now you experience the object in its negative form. PARASITE AND DEVOTION MEAN THE SAME THING: the thing to which you are devoted (Germany) is also a parasite on the self.
Rage at the parasite occurs when one begin to perceive the negative dimensions of that to which you are devoted, when you realize it is destructive. You don't want to experience the rage at that which you love, which has given meaning to your life, so you "split it off."
My Main idea: Nationalism as a projection of the body: The entire nation is experienced as if it were within one's body. National life thus is experienced as projective identification. The biological (immunological) fantasy of the nation: War and genocide are based on projective identification in that internal psychobiological processes are projected outward.
Whatever is going on "outside" in the nation, the political phenomena we create, is based on what is going on, experienced "inside" the biological organism. We have to experience it "inside" or what is going on "outside" would not be so relevant. Internal psychobiological processes (psychosomatics) are projected outward. "External reality" reflects psychodynamics, psychobiology.
My central objective: To present the theory of metaphor and the body politic: To show how metaphors reveal the central fantasies of politics, revolving around the body. Fantasies surrounding the body create war and genocide, and I should focus on the psychosomatic sources of these two phenomena. The fantasy of the body politic can be revealed through observing metaphors within ideology. These reveal the shared unconscious fantasy that is the source of the metaphor.
The "parasite" is the other side of the coin of the omnipotent dream. You are attached to the omnipotent dream and you get power through the identification. However, you attachment to the object also sucks the life out of you.
The object you want to fight in war is the other side of the coin of the object that you love, that is, the bad mother that makes you want to separate from the good mother. However, you project the badness of the object onto the "enemy," and thus you can maintain the attachment and perceive the enemy as wanting to take you away from, destroy the object you love. The enemy is your own wish projected onto the "other," and you must destroy that wish in order to maintain the commitment to the absolute, "your own" country.
The "immune response" occurs because the object is experienced as a force operating within one's body. Trauma is the shattering of the connection to the object, loss of the ideal, separation from the "good object" which has constituted the foundation for existence. Trauma is based on the perception of destructiveness of the object, which causes you to want to separate. So trauma is the pathway to health because this is what stimulates, generates separation from the idealized object and a return to one's own self and life-space.
