TRUTH: Without acknowledging the existence of truths, there can be no faith, no ethics, no aesthetics, no search for human truths in philosophy, religion or psychology. No research, no scientific truths, no significance of history. We would be swirling around without foundation, without goals, without hope, without creativity, without imagination.

Any psychodynamic exploration is senseless without the conviction that something happened, something really, in truth, happened that impacted our psyches that can be known and worked through.  Life without a belief in the existence of personal and objective truths and the possibility of uncovering them is inconceivable and could only result in despair and psychic paralysis.  Without faith in the truth of “something happened,” there can be no change. Finding, uncovering, truth was at the core of Freud’s explorations and interpretations.
