Peterson's analysis notes that Hitler's "essential metaphor" was that of the "nation as a body, a pure Ayran body being assaulted by parasites that subjected the body to disease and decay." He says that this "fundamental metaphor" was "at the bottom of Hitler's message."

Nazism began with Hitler's metaphor of the Jew as a disease within the body politic. How this idea came to be enacted to create reality is the history of Nazi Germany.
