Adolph Hitler recognized the murderous nature of the nation-state: soldiers were obligated to "die for their country." He did not, however, understand death for the nation-state in a negative light.
He stated that any man who loves his people proves it solely by the "sacrifices he is prepared to make for it." Hitler's Nazi ideology was based on the proposition that Germans should act with "boundless and all-embracing love for the people" and if necessary "die for it."
The willingness to be "obedient unto death" defined Nazi ideology.
