THE INNOCENT, NAIVE, IIDEALISTIC ADOLF HITLER, ENTERING THE THE FIRST WORLD WAR FRONT FOR THE FIRST TIME (scroll down for photos), COULD NOT HAVE IMAGINED WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO HIM AND HIS COMRADES.

He could not face the truth and blame his beloved nation. After all, he declared, "were they not dying for Germany?"

Many years later, he would enact revenge.

The photos below show German soldiers in freight cars as they embark for the Front in 1914 to fight in the First World War. Innocent young men, they went “like sheep to the slaughter.” Robert Whalen reports that after four years of battle, 2,037,000 German soldiers had died; 4,300,000 were wounded; and 974,977 reported missing or wounded. Total casualties: 7,311,977.

Hitler was one of these innocent young men. He was shocked by the slaughter of his own comrades. NO WONDER HE BECAME FILLED WITH HATRED. He knew Germany was killing its own young men. But could not say this.

Hitler's could not bear to separate from his beloved country--acknowledge the truth that his nation was murdering its own soldiers. Witnessing the carnage that occurred immediately as Germans hit the front, the pathetic young man, Adolf Hitler, could not condemn his nation. "After all," he declared, "Were they not dying for Germany."

Later, filled with hatred, he would get his revenge.
