Warfare and terrorism are identical in their fundamental dynamic: the purpose is to compel belief. “Worship my god, or we will kill you” (Dostoyevsky).

Islamic radicals worship, and kill in the name of, their god, Allah. Nationalists worship, and kill in the name of their gods, "countries."
