I came in second at the ESSEX COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP RACE WHEN I WAS 18. I finished in front of those big cats right behind me--and in front of 100 other runners. I came in 2nd, which was my goal. I didn't try to keep up with the winner of this race, Bobby Mack, the best runner in New Jersey.

I was awarded i full athletic scholarship to University of Pennsylvania but didn't accept it. I met Norman O. Brown at Wesleyan University, the most severe coach I ever had. Still running after all these years.
