THE BODY OF BELIEVERS

“Our understanding of a political body seems to be a two-faced coin.  On one side is the original Greek understanding of ekklesia as the citizens of a Greek city-state.  Much of the Christian project was a redefining of terms. Jesus constantly is redefind terms such as what does it mean to be "rich," what is "God," what does it mean to "love."

"Paul, for example, used ekklesia to mean "the body of believers."  This seems to be the conflation of the idea of the body politic and the body of believers. Perhaps nations are best understood as ekklesia, The Religious State; the group of believers and the citizens of the political entity."

This explains why "truth" MUST be spoken in court.  The nation seems to be a type of a religion, western government being no more than denominations of Christianity.”
