The SS man hated the Jew because the Jew was an image of his own abject, obedient self, dying at the behest of Germany. Jews were compelled to submit even more radically than the SS man. 
 

German soldiers died in battle (as Hitler and Himmler required), just as Jews died in the Holocaust.

 Did Hitler unconsciously set the whole thing up to demonstrate that there is ”nothing sweet and fitting” to die for a country? Was the Holocaust Hitler’s antiwar message, demonstrating that it is NOT sweet and fitting to die for a country?
